Save money on your energy bills if you loft is used as a room

In an uninsulated home, around a quarter of heat is lost through the roof. Insulating your roof space is a simple and effective way to reduce heat loss and save money on your energy bills.
If you are using your roof space as a living space, then you should make sure that all of the walls and ceilings between the heated room and the unheated space are insulated. Many loft conversions completed in the 1980’s and earlier are inadequately insulated or not insulated at all.
An example of how the different parts can be insulated is shown above.
If you are in receipt of a qualifying benefit or qualify under the Local Authority Flex scheme, you could receive free underfloor insulation.
Save energy, save money
With approximately 25% of heat lost through an uninsulated roof, insulating your room in roof can save you significant amounts of money and make your room-in-roof living space feel much more comfortable by keeping you warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
Remember, if you qualify, PT Energy Solutions could provide you with this insulation for free through the Energy Company Obligation (ECO3) scheme.
