Underfloor Insulation

Insulate under your ground floor and save up to £75 per year

It may come as a surprise, but, up to 15% of the heat lost in your home is lost through the floor. To save money, the ground floor and any rooms above unheated spaces – such as above an integral garage – can be be insulated.

If you are on an upper floor – such as a first floor flat – you don’t usually need to insulate your floor due to heat rising from below.

What type of floor do I have?

Many homes – particularly newer ones – will have a solid ground floor. These can be insulated but are much harder to do, with significant disruption.

Older homes are likely to have a suspended timber floor. An easy way to tell is to have a look outside your home. If you have air bricks then you are likely have a suspended timber floor.
